Many cases of moderated face and buttock sagginess can be corrected satisfactorily with non-invasive procedures, using local anesthesia and reduced surgical time, with the Thread Lift technique (and also Aptos threading). Barbed sutures (threads) are used to lift sagging eyebrows and eyelids, deep nasolabial folds (those furrows between your nose and the corners of your mouth) or aging neck tissues. A thin needle is used to insert the sutures under the facial tissues. The barbs on one end of the thread grab and lift the sagging skin, and the teeth on the other end anchor the skin to the underlying facial tissues or stable bone areas. This way muscles, fat and skin are placed back to the position they lost to the effect of gravity and aging. Thread lift migth also correct the effects caused by weight gains immediately followed by a significant weight loss. Threads are elaborated with different materials, all of them biocompatibles and inert. Although not a cheap procedure, they offer an excellent and lasting alternative to facelifts and the insertion of buttock prothesis. No incisions or stitches are required, and no scars are produced. On the initial consultation you will be advised of which of the alternative materials would be the most adecuate for your particular case. See also
