![]() What it isDermoabrasion is a technique for elminating very old skin, to deep layers of skin, stimulting the growth of new cells at the basal region, where the stem cells are located at any age. In a similar fashion, fribroblasts generation is stimulated, as well as elastic fibers and colagen at the dermis. ResultsThe resutls is a youthfull and lush aspect in the treated areas. Planning the treatmentThis procedure required the patient one week off her daily activities. It leaves the redness on the treated skin for two to three weeks and will need to sun block the skin for three months to avoid unwanted pigmentations. From our experience, the results from this technique is so satisfactory that in comparison any nuisances are minimal. The procedure needs to be performed at a surgical room with local anesthesia and support, or with general anesthesia for better comfort to the patient. In any case this is a short-duration procedure. Materials utilizedDermoabrasion can be mechanical or chemical. We use abrasive surgical instruments for the mechanical ones. For the chemical type, we use a compounds based on Fenol, TCA, Alpha Hydroxyacids and other agentes. See also
